Miami Swim Week 2019 Experience

Honestly to put this experience into words is very hard. But here we go!

When Bèl Bagay Swimwear Boutique was founded back in April 2019, attending Miami Swim Week was our first goal for the company start. We had so much feelings, ideas, and what could be next for Bèl Bagay Swimwear Boutique banking on attending this experience.  Having a love for swimwear is one thing but learning and being amongst the professionals who’s been in this game longer is on a whole other level.

Miami Swim Week is a full week of events of “All things Swim”. The events started Thursday July 11th, 2019 through July 16th, 2019. The week included swimwear fashions (shows we attended) from the “new comer” Nu Wave Swim, Badgley Mischka Runway Show, Destination Miami, Miami Swim lounge Pop-Up part by DC Swim, Fernando Alberto by Art Hearts Fashion, Planet Fashion which included many designers like KevaJ, Playboy & Sean John, Tipsy Gysy, Hercules and special edition of Pride Night. And many other Swimwear fashion shows to chose from (too many to attend ALL).  Each designer brought a unique and inclusive style ranging from swimwear for all body types, one-pieces, trending colors, uniquely designed bikinis pieces and accessories to complete the finishing touch for beach ready.

Now let’s get to the real purpose why Bèl Bagay Swimwear Boutique attended Miami Swim Week. For the Showswim Buyer experience, which was held Saturday July 12th, 2019. It was so important for Bèl Bagay Swimwear Boutique to attend this event to interview swim manufactures, swimsuit vendors who can supplies the unique pieces for Bèl Bagay Swimwear Boutique launch. Amongst the 1200 swimwear vendors, Swimshow provided seminars which included Factoring & Financial Services, Swim Trends & Evolving Consumers, Pricing and Swim Fit School to everyone attending Swimshow. The Swimshow was held at the Miami Convention Center, there were 1200 swimwear and accessory vendors from all over the world. 

We can’t even express how organized Swimshow was. From the time you entered Miami Beach Convention Center there were beautiful smiling helpers at the door to help you with directions, any questions but best of all taking pictures of us at the huge beautiful “Swimshow” sign and well-designed Swimshow staircase (see attached image). The registration desk was well detailed and organized for Buyers receiving your their Buyers badge and gift bags. The process was easy and professional. Everyone was so helpful and happy to have each Buyers attend the event.

In our eyes, there was not a hair out of place but I’m sure it took a lot of sweat and tears for the Team at Swimshow to accomplish this experience for everyone who attended the event.  Swimshow provided free coffee (through the building) and breakfast for all four (4) days of the event including finger food and desserts (throughout the venue).  There were also ten (10) restaurants to choose from within the facility and amply sitting arrangement to eat or take a break from the overwhelming experience.  For those who got the time to experience it, Swimshow provided a Luxe Lounge Spa which provide body and leg massage, hand treatment, makeup and so much more. Trust me, for us Buyers this was a big plus.

There was about 1200 vendors from all over the World displaying beautiful designed men and women swimwear and accessories. We started our day out on Saturday at 9am, sat with several vendors then attended the Swim Trends & Evolving Consumers held by Freya from 11am-12pm.  Then we were back at it working our way through venue.  We were so overwhelmed by the many different beautiful selections each vendor had to offer. Most of the vendors had models on-hand to try on any swimwear you were interested in seeing, BIG PLUS.  All the vendors were so happy, patient and respectful to show you their collections.  Saturday was a 9am-5:30pm workday for us, literally but it was so worth it.  Sunday, we were back at it again attending the 8am class “Diving into Swim Trends and the Evolving Consumer” for an hour then back to meet more vendors we were not able to meet on Saturday then off to Destination Miami show. 

Unfortunately, Bèl Bagay Swimwear Boutique was due to catch a flight Sunday evening right before the big show for SI Swimwear and many other fashion shows to end Swim Week 2019.  We will be back next year (2020) spending the full swim week experience.

We truly enjoyed this experience. We met so many vendors, other swimwear companies, models and the who’s who in the industry.
